Working with Momentum in Tennis Matches

As part of his Masters in Sport Psychology, our mental training expert made extensive research on understanding "Perceptions and Strategies of Psychological Momentum among Competing Tennis Players". He interviewed ex-ATP Tour and WTA Tour players, Satellite and Futures Tour players, and NCAA DI players, who offer strategies they use to develop and maintain positive momentum in a match and strategies to overcome negative momentum in a match. About the Expert:

Mark J. Springett is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) in the U.S. and has provided Mental Skills Training to tennis players for the past 10 years. He is a graduate of the Sport Psychology Masters program at John F. Kennedy University in California. 

 

Mark has a strong knowledge of both the mental and strategic aspects of performing in tennis matches. He has worked with pros on the Pro Circuit, college players and many highly nationally ranked junior players including top-30 players in both the boys and girls ITF world rankings (including travel to the junior slams).
